School Meals

There are three lunchtime options available:
  1. The children may go home at the end of the morning session (12:15pm), returning to school by 1:05pm.
  2. The children may stay for a packed lunch which is sent from home. This should contain a savoury item and dessert, together with a non-fizzy drink or cup for water if desired. Please do not enclose 'sweets' in this meal. Please ensure that you provide spoons/straws or any other implement to assist in the correct eating of the food.
  3. The children may stay for a school lunch. Children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2), are entitled to a free school meal from September 2014. The cost for a meal for children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) is £2.25 per day from September 2015.  Payment can be made in cash (in a named envelope stating the days on which meals are required), by cheque (payable to Bury CE Primary School) or online using our payment system: PupilAsset Parents.  For more details, or information on how to download the app, please download the User Guide below.

If you feel that you may be eligible for assistance towards the payment of meals, information is available from the school office, by visiting the link: Free School Meals or by downloading the file below. All applications are treated in the strictest confidence.

Breaktime snacks and drinks
Water is readily available at breaktime, and so the bringing of playtime drinks is unnecessary, although a drinks bottle (containing water only) must be brought into school daily for the children to drink from throughout the day. Children in Reception and Years 1 & 2 are provided daily with fruit or vegetables for their morning break. Children in Key Stage 2 are encouraged to bring their own healthy snack. In the interests of dental care, sweets are not permitted.
